A long time ago this chick I used to know painted a six foot
by six foot portrait of me from one of my internet profile pictures.
She lived with me for a while and the painting hung on the
wall, but eventually she sold it to some dude for something like $400.00.
True story.
"I wonder who she is? What is she thinking? Does she have all of her teeth?"
Anyway.
I know! You haven't heard from me since July!
What crazy and exciting adventures have I had, you ask?
Not many.
I went to Oregon
for a week. Some of the photos can be found here.
Upon my return we finished installing our woodstove.
Through the awesome generosity of family and friends our
freezers are now crammed with game meats suitable for both dog and human. (We
can always use more so don't be shy.)
I never got around to building a rabbit hutch, so chicken
fried rabbit doesn't grace my table this winter.
(Oh darn?)
Maybe next winter.
In the meantime here I sit chipping away at the writer's
block that has had me stalled out in the middle of my third novel for two years.
I know what happens next, it isn't that I don't know where
to go from where I am. It's more like my brain has been evacuated of all
eloquence.
I just can't seem to forge ahead.
I'll write a few pages and then delete it all.
"Lame."
"Cliche."
"Boring."
"Too much
science."
*Delete!*
I've wasted hours and hours typing away only to banish every
word back into the ether from whence it came.
So, dear fans (all sixty of you), if the Universe ever
decides to shine favor upon me again you'll be subsequently blessed with new
reading material which you will then consume in a day or three.
I again will hear the grinding and gnashing of teeth as the
last page is read and the cover is slammed shut.
Then I'll start the whole process over again.
Until then, however, you can help feed me while I write by
making sure everyone you know has a copy of my work for Christmas.
"Shiny shiny."
